If Gartic Phone is not loading, the cause is usually on your side. Reload the page, try a private window or another browser, switch off extensions that block scripts or ads for a minute, and check that your network is not blocking the site. Quick fixes, in the order to try them

  1. Reload the page. A hard reload (Ctrl and F5 on Windows, Command and Shift and R on a Mac) clears a half-loaded page.
  2. Open a private or incognito window. This loads the site without your extensions and cached data. If it works there, the problem is an extension or stored data.
  3. Try another browser. Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari handle games differently. If one fails, another often works.
  4. Turn off extensions for a minute. Ad blockers and script blockers can stop a game from loading, especially when a page waits for an ad or a script before it shows the lobby. Re-enable them afterwards.
  5. Update your browser. Old versions miss features that live games rely on.
  6. Switch networks. Try mobile data instead of Wi-Fi, or the other way round. If the game works on one and not the other, the first network is blocking something.
  7. Restart your device. It is dull advice and it works more often than you would expect.

If the page is stuck waiting for an ad

Some game sites show an ad or run an ad script before the lobby opens. If the page stalls at that step, the usual causes are an extension blocking the script, a slow network, or the ad service itself being slow. A private window, a different browser or a different network usually gets you past it. If it never clears, the site may be having problems of its own.

Is the site down, or is it just you?

  • Open the site on a different device, such as your phone on mobile data. If it fails there too, it is probably down for everyone.
  • Ask someone else in your group. If nobody can load it, wait or switch games.
  • Search for the game's name with "down" in a search engine or on social media. People report outages quickly.

If you are on a school or work network

Many schools and offices block game sites by category. We do not suggest workarounds for a network that has been set up to block games. If you are a teacher or a manager and want to use a game for a lesson or an event, ask whoever runs the network to allow it for that purpose.

Why is Gartic Phone not loading?

The most common reasons are a blocked script or extension, a stale browser cache, an outdated browser, a network that blocks the site, or the site being down. Try a private window, another browser and another network, in that order.
